artist statement
my art lives at the intersections of healing, memory, and identity, shaped by my experiences as a multi-generational chicanx woman. I work with archives, documentation, sculpture, and mixed media as ways of holding story both personal and inherited and exploring what it means to belong.
through my practice, I return to themes of vulnerability, remembrance, and reclaiming the inner child. i’m interested in how lived experience, found objects, and memory carry emotion, and how those fragments can be gathered into something that feels honest and connective. for me, art is a way of tending to personal stories and offering them space to become shared, felt, and witnessed.
my work is rooted in community and care. it is about honoring the legacies of those who came before us while creating room for those who feel displaced or unseen. I believe our stories hold power, and that through art, they can offer both healing and hope.
